Monitoring Active Users on the Site#

One of the most important measures for a running LMS site on a Nimbus SaaS subscription is the number of active users.

Monitoring these numbers helps you understand the volume of traffic your site receives and ensures that your subscription covers the capacity you need.

To monitor the active users on your site, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Control Center and select your site.

  2. Under the Analytics section, select Usage.

Note

A visitor is counted as an active user only when they access the courseware or discussion sections within one of your courses. Each person is counted only once per site, per period, regardless of the number of visits or courses they interact with.

The edunext Control Center includes a section to monitor the number of active users. It provides three figures: the number of active users for the current day, the past 7 days, and the past month.

Note

For Stratus, Cirrus Hosting, and Cirrus subscriptions, the number of active users is not tracked in the same way. It can be inferred from the completion records stored in the MySQL database.
