Student admin#

As the course progresses, staff members will need access to the Student admin tools, which are to be found in the LMS instructor dashboard, under the Student admin tab.

View learner grades#

There are multiple ways for a course staff user to view a particular learner grades.

The first one is by using the course gradebook which will be available in courses with a small number of enrolled learners.

Staff users will find a link to the gradebook at the top of the Student admin tab.

A second alternative is to View a specific learner’s learner’s grades and progress is by finding this section of the Student admin page, entering the Learner’s address or username and hitting the View Progress Page link.

A third option is by generating and downloading the grade reports as explained in the “Data Download” section of this documentation.

View learner enrollment status#

This tab of the instructor dashboard will also allow to View a specific learner’s enrollment status by entering the Learner’s address or username and hitting the View enrollment status link.

Adjust a specific learner score or submission attempts#

From the LMS instructor dashboard#

In this section of the LMS instructor dashboard, after entering a learner email address or username and the specific problem location, you can perform the following operations on that learner record for that particular problem.

  1. Resetting the number of Attempts: Allow a learner who has used up all attempts to work on the problem again.

  2. Re scoring the problem: Compute a new score for the existing learner response. This is useful when the problem parameters have been changed after the last scoring operation.

  3. Re scoring the problem only if the grade will improve: Compute a new score for the existing learner response only in case that the new score is better than the current one. This is useful when the problem parameters have been changed after the last scoring operation, but you need to keep the grades that have already been granted.

  4. Score Override: For the specified problem, override the learner’s score at the instructor’s discretion.

  5. Delete learner state: For the specified problem, permanently and completely delete the learner’s answers and scores from the database.

From the staff view of the specific course unit#

These 5 operations can also be triggered for a specific student from the course page where the component (problem) is located.

Adjust all learners scores or submission attempts#

In this section of the LMS instructor dashboard, after entering the specific problem location, you can perform the following operations on all the learner records in the course for that particular problem.

  1. Resetting the number of Attempts: Allow all learners to work on the problem again.

  2. Re scoring the problem: Compute a new score for the existing learners responses. This is useful when the problem parameters have been changed after the last scoring operation.

  3. Re scoring the problem only if the grade will improve: Compute a new score for the existing learner responses only in case that the new score is better than the current one. This is useful when the problem parameters have been changed after the last scoring operation, but you need to keep the grades that have already been granted.

Note

You can view the status for the re scoring tasks that you submit by using the Show task status button in the Student admin tab.
